Well Bobby, Mike, and Brian all showed up to Chicken Creek and rode hunerds Sunday night. I’m still mostly relegated to watching from the utility quad, but the knee is improving. It was dry, damn hot, the ragweed was thick, and everyone still had about as much fun as you can have with your clothes on. Eddie (sp?) showed up as the sun was going down with a 100 he bought just moments before. It’s a little rough ‘round the edges but will make a grade A race bike in no time. That brings the Chiva Knievel series to 5 official participants at this moment but that ain’t all. Tucson tells me he’s looking for a bike, Hollis has confirmed he and his amigos participation, and I just got a message from Brian last night that the Firey bunch are gonna join in. Again, the first official race will be some time in October.
I went over last night and mapped out what may just end up being the 2 most bitchin’ tracks on the place. One is in the creek bottom near the county road and the other is about smack dab in the middle of the property. The one in the creek bottom will be almost entirely covered in shade and have lots of elevation change. The sandier soil down there will also make for some nice berms once the track gets worn in. … The other track is going to be our supercross track. It’s gonna wind it’s way in and out of some natural ditches and plateaus that will lend to cool jumps and big banked berms. There is already a 30ft tabletop on it and YES I think it’s doable on the 100s without tearing them up. All of the other jumps will be smaller tables and a whoop section will be added as well.
So you may be asking “Does the pic have anything to do with this?” … No. I forgot to take any pics of the festivities Sunday night. Since I feel every post should have some sort of pic, there ya go.
Cheers,
-Buddy
