Isle of Chicken

Alright, first things first, I realize I haven’t posted in a looong time. Had a lot going on but, despite it being hot as balls, we here at the Chiva Knievel headquarters continued riding, and riding plenty, over the summer. Now we finally have some good weather with a little moisture and it’s time to get started back on building at Chicken Creek.

A few weeks ago I picked up the special Isle of Man TT edition of MCN. I’ve had a thing for that race ever since I was a kid. It’s a shame that tracks like that don’t really exist anymore. The last Formula 1 race at the original Nurburgring was in the mid 60s while the motocross GP schedule dropped Namur, Belgium from it’s schedule after the 2007 event. These are the kind of places where everything isn’t perfect but overall it’s amazing and you work around the imperfections. I think adapting to that kind of track makes for a fun challenge and it usually keeps things a little spooky.

Soooo… that’s what we’re gonna do at Chicken Creek. We started work on the Isle of Chicken and so far it’s coming along pretty good. I’ve got about 1/3 of the course laid out and will hopefully have it complete in a few more weeks. It’s going to be a traditional GP course with a little of everything and, if done right, a lot more speed and flow than the current loop.

(for you technically challenged asshats, click on the links for videos of each track. sorry bout the french on namur. ...try to ignore that)
