Does anyone know what this weekend is? For those of you who were not jumping up and down like a wigger at a House of Pain concert saying “ooh ooh pick me” because you wanted to scream “It’s the goddamn Monster Energy Cup” then let me get your purse and walk you the fuck out.
That’s right, it’s the Monster Energy Cup. An attempt at an indoor combo of supercross and motocross. Will it be a perfect combo? Who knows but it’s neat for DirtWurx and Monster to try something new. I think the format with 3 main motos, ten laps each, is a cool idea. I’m also diggin’ the idea that they are gonna televise the Supermini race in between. Anytime you can replace WMX with Supermini it’s a good thing. If I wanted to see girls race I’d give away free Oprah tickets to the first chick who could fingerbang herself unconscious.
The question and discussion that tops so many sites is “Who’s gonna win it?” I say …who cares? I think that with this format (10 lap races), the fact there will be no AMA fines or suspensions for rough riding, and that there is very little on the line (no points to win/lose and time to heal before A1) means we’re looking at a damn fine opportunity for some good old fashioned racing. Time to throw it all down and see who is badass. …even if it’s only for 1 main. Nobody ever said “Dude was a LEGEND the way he consistently finished in the top 5”. Guys are legends for riding like they got a pair.

Oh and speakin’ of that motto, Damon Fucking Bradshaw is lining up for this one. He probably won’t run at the front but he’ll double the testosterone level of the starting gate just by rolling his surly ass up on it. …and if all is right with the world he’ll hit Mike Alessi so hard cheap Mexican candy will rain out of him.
