Come join us

For folks new to the Chiva Knieval Dirt Bike Championship I figured that a “Who, What, When, Where, and Why” was in order. From now on this can be deemed Chapter 1 of your bible of the coolest moto series that you’ll ever hope to be a part of.

What:
A small pit-bike race series organized and ran by the participants. The standard bike is the Honda XR100 with no engine performance modifications. Other comparable bikes (TTR125, KLX/DRZ110, etc..) are accepted. If a participant chooses to greatly modify their bike, or bring a high-performance pit-bike, they WILL be ridiculed and forced to take on any handicap agreed upon by the other participants. All original courses for the CKDC will be designed with the XR100 in mind and we will do our best to not include anything that would be too tough on the little bikes. After all, part of the reason we are doing this is because we are cheap. Throughout the series we will do our best to cover most popular moto disciplines. (Motocross, Flattrack, Cross-country, TT…)

Who:
Whoever thinks that this sounds like fun, has an acceptable bike, and doesn’t take any of this or themselves too seriously. It doesn’t matter if you have ridden/raced your whole life or are just starting. The CKDC is made up of both types of rider and we have found that the XR100 is the great equalizer. No matter your experience, you are gonna find someone to race with.

Where:
Most events will be held at the top secret location of the Chicken Creek Motosport Park. This may cause you to ask “So how are Joe and Jane Public supposed to find this place?” .. Exactly. .. The top secret location will be made known only to those who are deemed to indeed be cool enough. The other options for event locations are temporary circuits at someone’s house (BBQ Race) and the occasional poaching of an event at an actual racetrack (Fancy Race). Any time that the CKDC goes to an actual racetrack it is highly unlikely that we will go to the trouble to request our own class. We will decide on a random class to enter and then score ourselves separately after the event.

When:
For now this blog is the O-fish-ul source for all Chiva Knievel Dirtbike Championship info. Official Event Flyers, ideas, event pics, etc.. will be posted on here. It would be much appreciated if the participants would use this as their primary form of communication. For example, when a post asks for suggestions it would be really nice if you asshats would simply use the “comments” section of that post. That’s a very effective means of communication for all involved. Not only does it let “the board” know what you think but it lets the other participants know as well. IF, on the other hand, you insist on calling or emailing me personally I have to then go back and communicate that to the others in some way. Guess what… That’s not gonna happen. I don’t want that much bullshit and I don’t like talking on the phone. Use the comments section or your voice will go unheard.

Why:
…because it’s a hell of a lot of fun. That’s why. This is all meant for fun. Take it serious and you can take your serious ass somewheres else.
