I didn't get around to shooting an email to everyone that I'm gonna be away from work for the next 2 weeks, but I am. I'm having knee surgery this week and won't be back in my office with email access until July 27th.
I'm actually pretty stoked on this deal as I think they are finally going to fix this thing. It's a process called Patellafemoral Resurfacing and is also considered a "partial knee" replacement. The simple explanation is that they are going to give my patella a new "back" and put some slippery titanium on the end of my femur where the 2 meet. I'm looking at about a 12 week recovery period which puts me back on the bike around mid-October. (maybe a touch sooner) So it looks like I'm definitely IN for Gold Rush. Cool stuff.
Feel free to swing by the house and/or keep me posted of any fun goings on because it's gonna be a bit boring. Drinking crackhead tea, taking pain medication, and watching Band of Brothers for the umpteenth time can only hold me out for so long. It's been at least 4 years since I could really use my knee and I can't wait for this to be better.
...And don't forget that the Supersuckers are gonna be "in town" on the 25th!
